Dr. Alfonso Del Valle – Medical Director
Dr. Del Valle became interested in the field of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility while he was in training in Internal Medicine. He acquired Board Certification in Internal Medicine in 1981. He is one of few, who after completing training in Internal Medicine, became Board Certified in Obstetrics in Gynecology in 1985 at the University of Toronto. Upon completion of his Obstetrics and Gynecology training, Dr. Del Valle did post graduate training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, U.S.A.
Under the mentorship of Dr. Frederick Nattolin, Dr. Del Valle developed a keen interest in research and innovation in the field of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
Dr. Del Valle has authored numerous scientific publications and presented his data nationally and internationally. Dr. Del Valle is often quoted in the media and is often invited to lecture locally and abroad. He is currently a staff member at the department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of Toronto.
Aside from his numerous academic and scientific achievements, Dr. Del Valle is an advocate for patient’s rights and ensures that his team looks after the patients with care and compassion.
Dr. Del Valle belongs to the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society, the Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologist of Canada, the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology, the Society of Cryobiology, and the American Association of Tissue Banks.
Dr. Del Valle’s main interests are in the area of InVitro Fertilization, egg donation, and surrogacy, as well as aspects related to male infertility.
Dr. Fawwaz Alkazemi at ReproMed
Dr. Alkazemi is a certified OB/GYN by The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He completed his OB/GYN residency program at The University of Saskatchewan and also completed his extra training in Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility there as well. For the last 10 years, Dr. Alkazemi has practiced exclusively in the area of Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility and has done specialized work in helping patients with PCOS.
Dr. Alkazemi is a member of several professional societies including: SOGC (Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of Canada), CFAS (The Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society), ACOG (The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists) as well as ASRM (American Society of Reproductive Medicine). He joined the ReproMed team in 2015.
Dr. Tamer Said – Director of Andrology Lab and Sperm Bank
Dr. Said oversees the Andrology Laboratory and Reproductive Tissue Bank at ReproMed since 2006. He graduated from Alexandria Medical School, Egypt in 1994 and received his master degree in Andrology from the University of Alexandria in 1999. He completed his four year post-graduate training at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Cleveland, Ohio where he worked as a Research Fellow and as a Research Associate. Dr. Said holds a doctorate degree in Medical Sciences from the University of Groningen, Groningen, The Netherlands. In 2010, the American Board of Bioanalysis (ABB) certified him as a High-complexity Clinical Laboratory Directory (HCLD). Dr. Said is one of the few Andrologists in the world, and the first one in Canada, to hold such a prestigious designation.
He has more than ten years of experience in the field of Andrology Laboratories and Cryo-banks. Dr. Said has helped build the new Andrology Laboratory at ReproMed from the ground up as a state of the art facility. Using his unique background and expertise, he has designed the Andrology Laboratory to offer the most comprehensive services for male fertility management combined with the highest standards of quality and care. Dr. Said has an impressive history of academic achievements.
He is the recipient of a number of academic awards and research grants. He has published over 35 scientific papers and review articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals, authored 4 book chapters, and has presented more than 70 abstracts at both national and international scientific meetings. He is a member of several professional societies, including: American Society of Reproductive Medicine, American Society of Andrology, and the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society. Dr. Said is an ad hoc reviewer for several esteemed scientific journals such as: Andrologia, the Journal of Andrology, Fertility & Sterility, and Biology of Reproduction, Human Reproduction and the Journal of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics.
In addition, he also serves as a Managing Editor in Frontiers of Bioscience. His research interests include apoptosis and DNA fragmentation in the male germ line, sperm selection methods and gamete cryopreservation. He worked on developing a new semen preparation method based on immuno-magnetic labeling of apoptotic sperm. He remains fully active in both basic and clinical research.

Dr. Iryna Kuznyetsova – IVF Lab Director
Dr. Iryna Kuznyetsova joined the ReproMed team in August of 2008 as the institutes Senior Embryologist. In December of that year, she was promoted to IVF Lab Director where she oversees all aspects of IVF department at the institute. Before joining ReproMed, Dr. Kuznyetsova spent 6 years as the Senior Embryologist at the Reproductive Genetics Institute in Chicago, Illinois where she also performed FISH analysis during PGD-cases.
She began her career as an Embryologist at the Reproductive Genetics Institute in Kiev, Ukraine. Dr. Kuznyetsova has an extensive background in cell and reproductive biology and advanced experience in all aspects of human assisted reproductive technology. She earned her B.Sc. in Biology, and later her M.S. in Genetics at Kiev State University in Kiev, Ukraine in 1985. Dr. Kuznyetsova then went on to earn her Ph. D. in Biology and Genetics at the Institute of Animal Breeding and Genetics in Kiev, Ukraine, in 1995.
Kaleb Einstein Montgomery – Registered Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner
Kaleb is a Registered Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner and is the clinical director of Fertility Toronto Acupuncture Clinic. Fertility Toronto is devoted solely to treating male and female fertility problems and pregnancy care. The clinic uses acupuncture, Chinese herbs, nutrition and lifestyle counseling to help couples have healthy pregnancies and babies. He works closely with patients who are going through ART (Assisted Reproductive Therapy), procedures like IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) or IUI (Intrauterine Insemination) to help increase their success rates.
Kaleb teaches Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture at the Institute of Traditional Medicine and at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto, and is the columnist on Women’s Issues for Acupuncture Today Magazine. Over the years he has been interviewed numerous times for health advice in Now Magazine. In a great combination of East and West, he also practices with Dr. Del Valle at ReproMed, the Toronto Institute for Reproductive Medicine.
Dara Roth Edney – Counsellor
Dara has been practicing social work in Toronto for over 10 years. Her focus includes counselling as well as policy-based research. In both areas she is committed to providing a service that is anti-discriminatory, inclusive, and non-judgemental.
She holds a Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from the University of Toronto, as well as Bachelor’s Degrees from York University (BSW) and McGill University (BA). She is a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (RSW), as well as a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers. Dara is a member of the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society (CFAS) and the Canadian Counselling Special Interest Group (CCSIG) of the CFAS.
In 2001, while experiencing her own struggles with infertility, Dara became very involved in the developing legislation around Assisted Human Reproductive Technologies. She was invited to speak before the House of Commons Standing Committee on Health in 2002. Her expertise continues to be sought by Assisted Human Reproduction Canada (AHRC) on developing regulations.
After surviving more than 8 years of infertility and undergoing numerous tests, medications, surgeries, unsuccessful intrauterine inseminations (IUIs), and in-vitro fertilizations (IVFs), Dara and her partner Peter turned to gestational surrogacy. Today they are the proud and happy parents of two young daughters; each one carried by a different gestational surrogate. Through her own experience with infertility and her family’s journeys through the surrogacy process, Dara provides guidance and hope for others in her sessions.
Dr. Suzanne Wong – OB / GYN & Ultrasound Specialist
Dr. Suzanne Wong (MD, FACOG, FRCSC, RDMS, NCMP) obtained her medical degree from Harvard Medical School (Boston, USA) and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) at Brigham & Women’s Hospital. She is a graduate from the University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill, USA) and is also a Morehead Scholar.
Dr. Wong is an active staff member and Medical Director of Obstetrics (Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology) at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Toronto. Before taking her role at St. Joseph’s Hospital, she was clinical staff at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston and a Clinical Instructor at Harvard Medical School (1999-2003). Dr. Wong is a fellow of both the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC) and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG). She is also a Diplomat of the American Board of OB/GYN (DABOG).
Early on in Dr. Wong’s career she recognized the importance of pelvic imaging as an essential component in the evaluation and management of OB/GYN patients. As a specialist in Women’s imaging with a designation of a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), she has enhanced patient care for those undergoing ultrasounds with additional expertise in patient preparation, image acquisition, and medical interpretation. Utilizing state of the art ultrasound equipment, Dr. Wong continues her work and research in this area by working closely with ReproMed’s sonographers in providing high quality obstetrical ultrasounds.
Dr. Wong is an active lecturer for both medical residents & physicians and is a graduate of the Education Scholars Program at the University of Toronto. She has published numerous articles related to her field. She has a special interest in preventive medicine and women’s health. Her expertise has been recognized with several teaching awards from such institutions as Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Harvard University, and the University of Toronto. She was recently awarded the University of Toronto 2012 Award of Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching and the 2012 Master Teacher Award for sustained excellence in medical education.
Kyle Macdonald – Clinic Manager
Kyle Macdonald is ReproMed’s Clinic Manager. He is responsible for managing our partner relationships with all physicians, hospitals, and affiliated clinics. In addition, he actively promotes ReproMed’s achievements in the reproductive community, addresses all media inquires, and assists in the growth of the institute.
Mr. Macdonald has spent the last 11 years in Business Development working for such organizations as AT&T, Dell, and Netcom. He has helped build successful channel alliances, launched key communication programs, and assisted in the development of new product initiatives.
